WHAT IS U4 MICRO SOCCER?

U4 Micro Soccer is a coed program designed just for 3 and 4 year olds. This program introduces young children to soccer in a fun, relaxed, and supportive environment.

At this age, it is not about competition. It is about movement, smiles, and learning that soccer is fun.

There are no traditional games in this division.

AGE REQUIREMENT

Players must turn 3 years old before May 31, 2026.

Eligible birthdates for the 2026 season:
August 1, 2021 - July 31, 2022

**New Registration Update**

Beginning this season, we are moving to the seasonal year registration system (August 1 – July 31). Players will now be placed into divisions based on their birthdate within this school-year calendar. This change helps keep age groups aligned with classmates and supports smoother development at each level. Please use the chart below to find your child’s division based on their birthdate, and reach out if you have any questions.

TEAM STRUCTURE

• Teams are formed after registration closes
• Teams will be evenly divided
• No more than 10 players per team

SCHEDULE

• Teams meet twice per week
• Mondays and Wednesdays
• Session times:
– 5:30 PM – 6:15 PM
– 6:30 PM – 7:15 PM
• Each session lasts 45 minutes

WHAT EACH SESSION LOOKS LIKE

First 25–30 minutes: Team practice focused on basic movement and coordination. Activities may include:

• Tag games
• Obstacle courses
• Dribbling games
• Simple ball activities
• Creative movement games

Some activities use a soccer ball. Some do not. At this age, both are important.

Last 15 minutes: Teams come together for a small, soccer-related developmental activity such as Sharks and Minnows or other fun group games.

All players participate equally and receive the same amount of time.

FIELD & EQUIPMENT

• Same field size as U6 Micro Soccer
• 6-foot pop-up Pugg goals
• Smaller playing space designed for young players
• Kids only need to have shin pads (they get kicked a lot). Cleats are not needed but are stinken cute!

A NOTE FOR PARENTS

At 3 and 4 years old, children develop at different speeds.

If a child wants to stay close to mom or dad, pretend to fly like an airplane, watch a dog walk by, or sit down and look at the clouds, that is completely okay.

No child will be forced to participate.

The goal at this age is simple:

• Play with friends
• Be active
• Enjoy time with family
• Experience the joy of soccer

That positive first experience matters most.
